Overview

TrackSugar is a blood glucose tracking application designed with privacy as a first principle. We do not collect, transmit, store, or process any personal data or health information on our servers — because we have no servers. All data you enter into TrackSugar remains exclusively on your device.

This Privacy Policy explains what data TrackSugar stores locally, how it is used, and what rights you have over it.

1. Data We Do NOT Collect

TrackSugar does not collect, transmit, or share:

  • Your name or any identifying personal information
  • Blood glucose readings or health data
  • Device identifiers (IDFA, GAID, IMEI, etc.)
  • Location data
  • Usage analytics or crash reports
  • Advertising identifiers
  • Any information through third-party SDKs

TrackSugar does not require an account, email address, or internet connection. It functions entirely offline.

2. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

TrackSugar stores the following data only on your device using local encrypted storage (Hive):

This data:

  • Is never transmitted to any server, cloud service, or third party
  • Is never sold or shared
  • Is accessible only to you on your physical device
  • Is deleted permanently when you use the “Clear All Data” feature or uninstall the app

3. Exported Data (Your Voluntary Action)

TrackSugar allows you to export your data as PDF, Excel (.xlsx), or JSON files. When you share these files using the system share sheet (e.g., via WhatsApp, email, or Messages):

  • The export happens entirely on your device
  • TrackSugar does not monitor, intercept, or log these shares
  • You are solely responsible for where you share exported files
  • Recipients of shared files are governed by their own privacy policies

4. Internet Access & Permissions

TrackSugar does not require or request internet access.

The app may request the following device permissions solely for local functionality:

No permission is used to access, transmit, or sync health data remotely.

5. Children’s Privacy

TrackSugar does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). Since the app collects no personal data at all, it poses no specific privacy risk to minors.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has entered personal health data into the app, you may delete all data using the “Clear All Data” feature in the app’s settings.

6. GDPR — Users in the European Economic Area

If you are located in the EEA, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Because TrackSugar stores no data on any server we control:

  • There is no data for us to provide access to, correct, or delete remotely
  • You exercise your right to erasure directly within the app using “Clear All Data”
  • We act as neither Data Controller nor Data Processor for purposes of cloud or third-party data processing, as none occurs

7. CCPA — California Residents

TrackSugar does not sell, share, or disclose personal information to third parties. California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected — in the case of TrackSugar, no personal information is collected beyond what you store locally on your own device. No opt-out mechanism is needed because there is no data collection.

8. Data Security

All data is stored using Hive, a local key-value store on your device. TrackSugar does not implement additional encryption beyond what the device operating system provides (Android Keystore / iOS Data Protection). We strongly recommend enabling device-level security (PIN, Face ID, or fingerprint) to protect your health data against unauthorized physical access.

9. Third-Party Services

TrackSugar does not integrate:

  • Analytics SDKs (Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, etc.)
  • Advertising networks
  • Crash reporting services (Crashlytics, Sentry, etc.)
  • Cloud storage or sync services
  • Any SDK that accesses or transmits health data

All libraries used are open-source, run exclusively on-device, and produce no outbound network traffic.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any material changes will be reflected in an updated version published in the app store and, if applicable, on our website. The “Effective Date” at the top of this policy will always reflect the most recent revision.

11. Medical & Health Information Disclaimer

TrackSugar is designed solely for informational, personal logging, and educational purposes. TrackSugar is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or clinical treatment system. The app, including its blood glucose logbook, HbA1c estimation calculation, medication reminder notifications, and doctor appointment records:

  • Does not provide medical advice, clinical diagnoses, or personalized treatment recommendations.
  • Should never replace consultation, diagnosis, or evaluation with a licensed physician, diabetologist, endocrinologist, or qualified healthcare professional.
  • Is not intended for use in medical emergencies. If you suspect severe hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, or an acute health crisis, seek immediate emergency medical care.

Always consult your physician or qualified healthcare provider before altering your insulin dosage, diabetes medications, exercise routine, or diet plan.
